STYLES

At Bambino Tattoo we work with different styles of tattoos. Below you will find a brief description of each of them.

  • Blackwork

A blackwork tattoo is a bold work of body art rendered in solid planes of black ink. They are usually composed of abstracts patterns and geometric shapes, though some scenes and subjects. This style emerge 5 years ago and it has been developing in beautiful art pieces.

  • Traditional

A traditional style tattoo have bold lines and very bright colours. They are usually stereotypical designs such as crosses, skulls, anchors, pin-ups etc... These type of tattoos have developed naturally over time, whilst also sticking to its roots... Tattoos of this nature have maintained their popularity for a reason: they are very beautiful and timeless.

  • Neo-traditional

The Neo-traditional tattoo is a modern variation of the old school or the American traditional tattoo. It has emerged from old school “Americana”. This style makes designs more modern by adding bold lines in the symbol and also by the use of realistic images and cartoons, maintaining the traditional American style.

  • Tribal

The popularity of this style reached its absolute peak during the mid to late 90’s. Tribal tattoos meaning will change from culture to culture. They can also be symbols of protection, power and strength.

  • Gothic

In the modern-day context, something that is gothic upholds death or the evil. And that is probably the reason why most gothic tattoos are in black. Black represents the dark side of the universe. They have become a symbol of death - skulls, coffins, pentagrams, etc...

  • Dotwork

The dotwork tattoo is an excellent option for anyone who wants to take their designs to a new and different level. They are designs that use dots rather than solid lines. In most cases dotwork tattoos are created using black, grey, or even red ink.

  • Black & Grey

This style uses varying shades of black ink to create the work, and can be seen in a number of different tattoos genres. Black and grey tattoo work revolves around diluting black ink to achieve different shades; with a ‘wash’ of sorts.

  • Traditional Japanese & Neo Japanese

Also known as “Irezumi”, using wooden handles and a metal needle that is attached to a silk thread. Getting this traditional tattoo nowadays is more contemporary but still classic. They are Japanese designs with bright colours, ocean elements such as a koi fish and symbols of courage and protection. The new variation is the Neo Japanese style, which mixes a Japanese base with tons of different aspects of pop culture, past and history movements.

  • Ornamental

These images consist of lines, spirals, waves, and crosses, often joined in patterns. They look especially beautiful on a large scale. They use clear fine lines, symmetry, mainly black ink, geometrical figures like mandalas, etc...

  • Microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique, hair by hair, that will allow you to show off perfect and natural eyebrows, designed according to the shape of your face. Forget about putting on makeup every day and show off your look.
